The company

Our History

It was in 1972 that Antonio Romano, with dedication and hard work, began his path focused on enhancing the products of his land and in particular the San Marzano tomato.

Antonio is a man of peasant origins, who starts from the fields, with an ideal: to share the high quality of his products with the rest of the world.

Thus, from a small fruit and vegetable shop, he began to expand his business and to supply large Italian supermarket chains.

The first factory

Thanks to passion and commitment, his dream becomes reality with the establishment, in 1983, of the first production plant of La Regina di San Marzano, a canning company that processes peeled tomatoes, pulp and puree in top quality tin
for the Italian and European market.

Passed away in 2002, he was a particularly appreciated and well-known figure in the canning industry, for his constant commitment to making production processes more efficient and optimizing production quality levels, factors that over the years have represented a fundamental distinctive character, contributing to the achievement of leadership positions on foreign markets.

Our Mission

The founder’s philosophy was perpetuated by his son Felice and his sons who, respecting the principles handed down by Antonio, took up the challenge of the globalization of international markets, becoming ambassadors in North America of the best Italian culinary tradition.

United States and Canadaare the markets of choice, due to the presence of consumers capable of recognizing and appreciating a completely Italian, home-made, premium and super premium segment product, tailored to the taste of the American consumer.

The first factory

Therefore, in 2013, La Regina di San Marzano USA, Inc. was established, a company wholly owned by the Italian parent company, with the aim of getting closer to the consumers, ensuring the proper management of the services provided locally.

The organization’s expansion into North America continues with the participation in the share capital, in 2017, of the Canadian distributor Vera Trima Import-Export, Inc.

In 2020 La Regina consolidates its presence in the United States by creating a production plant in the U.S.A., in Georgia, to complement Italian production with a second line dedicated to the manufacture of sauces containing meat, which cannot be exported from Italy. This is how La Regina Atlantica, llc. was born.
